The National Soccer Team of the Empire of Albion-Merité

The Albionish national soccer team was officially founded on November 29, 299AP (1588 Alb. Cal.) by order of the sports minister, Eva Marrick.  The team's first coach was Frederick Grimes, a former assistant coach for the Alfacron Planets in the Eastern Zartanian domestic league, the Trilats Federaztu vun Zeok'Tu.  Grimes quickly dubbed the team the "Albioin-Merité Imperial Eagles," a reference to the imperial eagle found on the country's arms and flag.  The team is made up of players of both Albionish and Meritéan ethnicity, representing the dual nature of the empire.  Below, you will find pictures of the team's uniforms, the current 22-man team roster, a few statistics about the team, and a list of games played.  The Eagles are currently a member of the International Vexillium Football Association (IVEFA). This allows the empire to participate in international play and tournaments under IVEFA rules, to which the team subscribes.

Short Explanation:
The uniform jersey is designed after the national flag of Albion-Merité, and is meant to symbolize the unity of the Albionish and Meritéan people under the new monarchy.  In the green part of the jersey is the imperial seal to represent the Albionish, while the flag of the former Merité symbolizes the Meritéans in the red part.
